Obama tries to stall troop withdrawal from Iraq!!! Treason?

The New York Post broke a story that has me absolutely baffled. I am baffled as to why the story isn’t all over the news. Please take a minute or two to read it by clicking the link.

Obama has been given so many free passes already. We have Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright to name a couple. But here we have this man who has constantly called for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. Now, here he is trying to make sure that it doesn’t happen until January just in case he wins. It isn’t enough that the troops come home. No, Obamessiah must have the credit too.

I know that this will not compute with all the Obamabots out there. You will either immediately think that it is a lie made up by the McCain camp or you will think that Obama had every right to do so. First of all, it is the Iraqi Foreign Minister that ratted him out. There were also at least three witnesses to the conversation.  Now, I know the next step in your programming tells you that Obama can do no wrong and was just being assertive. Let me explain to you that Obama has no right to act as Commander-In-Chief yet. He hasn’t been elected yet and he is going to U.S. military leaders, including Petraeus, and asking them to suggest a “reasonable” deadline for withdrawal. Of course they refused!

Now, I don’t think that this is technically treason; Obama was trying to undermine our position in Iraq. Obama was working against the U.S. military to further his career, plain and simple. There should be a serious investigation on this. This would have been a major scandal if McCain had done the same thing. Unbelievable! Isn’t this a violation of the Logan Act?

§ 953. Private correspondence with foreign governments.
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logan_Act

  3. I think it is a disgrace that someone who wants to be the next commander in chief would undermind the troops to suit their own political agenda. At least McCain was honest when he told the public that he would much rather win the war than the election. I have loved ones over there and I find Obama’s action offensive and criminal. ST

  4. Thanks for your comment Sara. You are the sixth person on the internet that I have seen make that comment. It seems that there has been an outcry from the families of soldiers on this. This is more evidence that Obama doesn’t care about this country. He only wants to further his career. If he gets elected, we will have the most corrupt administration in history. Just the other day, Biden was threatening to prosecute Bush over the Iraqi war. I would think it would be hilarious if Bush prosecuted Obama over his blatant violation of the Logan Act. The Logan Act carries up to three years in prison. The only problem is that several people, including Nancy Pelosi, have violated it but no one has ever been prosecuted.
